The KEO GmbH is a spin-off of the Kellendonk Group with currently 18 employees working in Cologne and Gladbeck, Germany. The success story of the Kellendonk group began over two decades ago and had a successful track record in the development and production of hardware and software for mass market devices – especially for heating, for white goods, for home and industry automation. With that expertise KEO employees (that worked for the Kellendonk group at the time) have successfully contributed to the creation of the European Smart Grid Architecture Model (SGAM). With the foundation of the KEO GmbH, the Kellendonk group started to add ready-made software solutions to the portfolio in 2012. These software solutions are EEBUS (SPINE) based stacks, which enable an interoperable and futureproof internet of things. The EEBUS (SPINE) standard is the world language of energy on the Internet of Things. It enables devices and systems to communicate with each other about the efficient use of energy, regardless of manufacturer and sector. KEO develops and markets scalable software products to connect external services (i.e. energy in the context of smart grids, home & building automation) to appliances in the “Smart World”. KEO’s main customers are the market and innovation leaders in their fields of energy management, power generation, HVAC, photovoltaics and battery systems, white goods as well e-mobility.
