Cordium is a social housing company situated in Hasselt, the capital of the province of Limburg in Belgium. Cordium manages more than 1500 residential dwellings in the region, focusing on the needs of people with limited recourses. Their mission is to provide social dwellings at an optimal price / quality ratio for their tenants. The planning of new projects and maintenance of the existing patrimony is performed by 13 employees. The social housing sector in Flanders has been a forerunner on rational use of energy since 1980. Cordium wishes to continue this ambition by using energy efficient technologies in combination with renewable energy sources without negatively affecting living comfort, nor derogating the aesthetic appearance of the buildings.
