Workshop on IoT and Edge Computing Research and Standardization Convergence
In the past years the role of standardisation as a bridge between research activities and the market has been increasingly recognized, both by EU institutions and by R&D stakeholders. The incorporation of the latest knowledge into new standards can provide the foundation for further developments, new research and ultimately new knowledge, creating a virtuous knowledge circle of standards and research. This workshop, co-organised by NGIoT, AIOTI and the IoT Forum will be composed of three online webinars. It will start by identifying and discussing the latest developments and priorities in the domain of Internet of Things (IoT) and Edge computing standardisation. It will identify and discuss priority needs from the industry with regards to IoT and Edge Computing standardisation. The webinar will discuss how these various efforts can converge to support globally interoperable IoT and edge computing technologies and how can upcoming research support this development, including in specific verticals such as industrial IoT, telecommunication services, health, home, energy and mobility.
Antonio Kung, Trialog, will make a presentation based on InterConnect work, about how to enhance contribution of European research projects to standardisation of IoT and edge
computing for home, living, energy and mobility domains.
