On October 16, the partners of the commercial demo visited one of the Continente supermarkets, owned by SONAE MC.  The goal was to collect information about the energy control systems at the SONAE Group stores, which will be part of the Portuguese Pilot.

 

The electrical energy control systems of the store were analysed (electrical systems, automation system, emergency generator, secondary substation), as well as the heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, the self-generation energy system, the photovoltaic panels installed on the rooftop of the building, the computer system and the lighting instructions control.

 

After collecting all the information needed, the partners will define the technical solutions that allow the centralised control of the different systems. Adaptations to existing software will also be necessary, in order to allow their interoperability in the most standardised way possible. In the end, the goal is to take advantage of the existing information on the different systems, in order to optimise the use of energy in the commercial buildings addressed in this pilot.
